Ben has over 20 years in improv and comedy and studied and worked in Chicago at iO, Second City and The Annoyance. He is a Second City Chicago Conservatory graduate and on a Harold team at iO Chicago.

Since then he runs the weekly improv show Something Good at Comedy Republic in Melbourne, was a cast member of Thank God You're Here and regularly seen on various Aunty Donna things as well Grouse House, including their popular The Most Upsetting Guessing Game.

He has been nominated for Best Independent Show at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and won Director's Choice for his 2024 show Ben Russell.

He is a co-creator of the cult series Hug The Sun and his debut one man show The Tokyo Hotel was adapted into a radio play series for ABC Comedy Podcasts.
