Laura Bruce is an award-winning Canadian-born comedian, writer and speaker, now based in Melbourne. After more than two decades in corporate communications, Laura made a bold late-life pivot to stand-up comedy.
Voted Newcomer of the Year (South Island) by the New Zealand Comedy Guild, she quickly made her mark with sharp, witty, and clean observational comedy. Her debut solo show, How to Cook a Kiwi: Laura Bruce’s N to Z of Aotearoa, premiered at the 2022 NZ Fringe Festival and toured the South Island in 2023.
In 2025, Laura produced and performed in Funny Women Far From Home at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. A gourmande and bonne vivante, she is also co-founder of Chemistry Gin, a multi–gold medal winning New Zealand gin.
She has featured on Radio New Zealand and earned multiple nominations at the Wellington Comedy Awards for Best Female Comedian and Joke of the Year.
