THE BIG SHOW ... An International Comedy Showcase
4+ world class comedians + a few guests acked in to one huge 2 hour showcase. The show with something for everyone. Ideal for the family, friends, social network and workmates.
Since its launch in 2006 in Auckland, The Big Show has become one of the most popular shows in the annual NZ International Comedy Festival. Every year it has showcased and launched some brand new world class comedy talents who have become major headline acts both here and abroad such as James Acaster, Nish Kumar, Ed Gamble, Andy Parsons, Stephen K Amos, Ismo Leikola, Mark Watson, Milton Jones, Lloyd Langford, Jimmy McGhie and many more.
Look who's talking in The Big Show 2024
MC BEN NORRIS (England) ; He first came to the NZ as a fresh new face early in the millennium. Now Ben is a popular headline act across the UK and a champion MC.
Special guest IAN SMITH (England); He made a lot of friends and fans when he was here at the Fest in 2018 & 2019. His star continues to rise with double nominations for 'Best Show' at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe and recent nominations for Best Show, Best Compere and Best podcast in the 2024 'Chortle Awards'
KIRSTY WEBECK ; Fast rising Aussie comedy star makes her NZ Fest debut. A wonderful fresh voice that Kiwi auidiences are going to love.
MARK SIMMONS (England) ; King of the 'one liners' from the UK with a big rep for banter with the audience.
