Welcome to The Classic Comedy Club - New Zealand's home of live comedy.

321 Queen St, Auckland Central - just up from the Town Hall and Aotea Square.

The Classic Comedy & Bar and The Classic Studio are located in the heart of Auckland`s entertainment precinct and feature local and international guest acts up to five nights a week.

The original design and layout of NZ's only fulltime professional comedy club is based on some of the most successful clubs in the USA and the UK. Not surprisingly, many have had nothing but praise for the atmosphere and audiences.

The main venue room can accommodate 120 people in comfortable cabaret-style seating, adjacent to a separate bar which is open from 7pm till late.

The Classic Studio upstairs can accommodate another 40-60 people in a close and personal environment.

What are your opening hours? 
Box Office & Bar open from 7pm until late 
Office Hours are Tuesday to Friday noon until 4pm. 
(These times may vary seasonally and especially during Comedy Festival Season)

How do I book a show? 
We update our website with all our shows approx 2-4 weeks before the event. 
Use the Comedy Guide to find the date and show you're after. Use Book Tickets to ... book your tickets. Easy! 
Tickets booked on our website are reserved to be paid for on the night at least 15 mins before the show.
All bookings require a confirmation and close at approx 4pm daily. 
After 4pm the Office is closed. We suggest trying your luck with door sales from 7pm.
You can pre-purchase tickets for most of our shows on Eventfinder
Special events and some shows may only be available through pre-paid ticketing agents.

How do I make a group booking? 
Use the same method as above. 
Group discounts apply for groups of 10+ confirmed. 
We're happy to chat to you about your booking, just flick us an email.

Are seats allocated? 
We seat the audience based on the rule: FIRST IN, FIRST TO THE FRONT. No arguments.
If you have made a group booking of 6 or more we will automatically allocate you a table for the group. 
We do ask that you arrive at least 15 mins before the show to allow time for seating. 
Latecomers and people booked under multiple names are not guaranteed seats together. 
Let the usher know how many people are in your group so we can accommodate all of you together.
If you have a disability and require special seating, please let the ushers know before seating. 

Are your shows age restricted? 
We recommend a minimum age restriction of 15 years old due to adult content and environment.
The Classic is a licensed establishment requiring all minors (under 18 years old) to be accompanied by their parent at all times. So if you're between 15-17 you must bring along a parent, and it has to be your parent not a friend/sibling. 
Some shows are strictly R18 - if you're not sure give us a ring 09 373-4321 before you purchase tickets. 
No ID, no entry.

Where can I park? 
Try the Civic Car Park under Aotea Square. 

Is The Classic BYO Alcohol? 
No! We are an on-licensed bar. Strictly no outside alcohol, not for gifts, prizes or giveaways. NO!
Any alcohol brought onto the property will be taken off you. 
You may be asked to leave if you bring your own alcohol into the show.
The bar takings are used to pay for the costs of running the club; buy a drink and support the upkeep of the club.

Yes, we have a bar snacks menu offering sushi, pizza, antipasto and more.

Looking for a meal before/after the show?
We are conveniently located on Queen Street and within walking distance to a number of restaurants. 
Right next door is Tanuki's Sushi & Sake Bar, our favourite Japanese restaurant offering a fantastic selection.
Let them know you're in for a show and they'll do their best to have you out on time.

We offer Dinner & Show Packages for work groups, social clubs and more.

Do you sell vouchers? 
Yes. Comedy Credit can be purchased from the Box Office during show hours. 
Comedy Credit comes in $20 or $50 vouchers and can be used towards any regular programme show. 
Pop by the club to purchase these after 7pm Monday, Wednesday - Saturday.
