We're back from Mon 13 Feb with the 2017 Raw Comedy Quest. Heats every Monday at The Classic until April 24th. Followed by Semi-finals on 01 and 08 May and a Grand Final on May 18. So if you think you're funny email scott@comedy.co.nz and sign on. $2000 in prize money and The Glory to be won.

EVENTS & FUNCTIONS 

The Classic offers a regular programme of live comedy for up to 5 nights a week.
We also have special events and shows happening all year round - check out What's Hot 

The Classic also offers private hire options for you to customise your own evening of comedy.
We offer a great night of entertainment all under one roof - you bring the people, we organise everything else!  
 

The Classic Comedy Experience includes:

-  A purpose built entertainment venue with a unique atmosphere and charm
-  2 separate licensed areas for up to 120 people
-  Main Venue seating up to 120 in a cabaret style with stage, lights and sound
-  Use of the projector and screen available for presentations (by prior arrangement)
-  Situated in the heart of Auckland's entertainment precinct - 50m from the Town Hall

Demand for the venue is at a premium and our calendar fills quickly.
Hire fees are available on request and depend on the event and dates required.
Hiring of The Classic is at the Director's discretion.
The Classic is not available to hire for personal parties or pre / post Ball parties and dance parties.

PRIVATE HIRE COMEDY FUNCTIONS AT THE CLASSIC 

The Classic offers private hire options available for:
Large corporate work functions or as part of your conference
Entertain staff, clients, social groups and associations
Launch a new product or brand
 

PRIVATE HIRE INCLUDING 2 HOUR COMEDY SHOWCASE:

-  We recommend a minimum of 60 people to a maximum of 120 people
-  Available inconjunction with our regular comedy programme - contact us for availability
-  Hire offers exclusive use of the Main Venue from 6pm until late 
-  A tailormade 2 hour comedy showcase featuring 4-5 pro comedians to suit your group as best we can
-  Comedians are hired by The Classic based on availability. If you have a few favourites let us know.
-  Cabaret style seating for up to 120 people (chairs around tables). 
-  Private bar in the Main Venue (No BYO alcohol). 
-  Bar Tab available with credit card as security.
-  Catering options available for an additional fee - view catering options
-  You are welcome to dress up the venue with your own table decorations, branding etc.
-  There are opportunities for your organisers or the Boss to say a few words.  
-  DJ/Bands may be hired by your own arrangement for entertainment after the show. 


Deposits and Cancellations

All private hires require a signed booking contract & 50% deposit to secure your booking.
Final catering confirmation and choices are required at least 7 days before event.
Any changes and cancellations within 7 days will incur surcharges and fees.
The Classic is a licensed bar requiring all minors (under 18) to be accompanied by their parent at all times.

FUNDRAISER HIRE 

A comedy show is a great way to raise funds for sports teams, school trips, volunteer services and charity. 


FUNDRAISER HIRE INCLUDING 2 HOUR COMEDY SHOWCASE:

-  Available on Thursdays and other dates by arrangement - contact us for availability
-  Hire offers exclusive use of the Main Venue from 6pm until late 
-  A customised 2 hour comedy showcase featuring 4-5 pro comedians 
-  Comedians are hired by The Classic based on availability, please let us know if you have any favourites
-  Cabaret style seating for up to 120 people (chairs around tables). 
-  Private bar in the Main Venue (No BYO alcohol). 
-  You are welcome to bring along branding, donation buckets, silent auctions etc.
-  Advertising space in our venue to help promote your function.

Fundraisers are responsible for selling their own tickets and the promotion of the show.
With up to 15 years of experience in the business, we're happy to offer advice.  


Deposits and Cancellations

All fundraiser hires require a signed booking contract & 50% deposit to secure your booking.
Any cancellations within 7 days may incur cancellation fees.
The Classic is a licensed bar requiring all minors (under 18) to be accompanied by their parent at all times.
The persons organising the fundraiser are responsible for their own sales and promotion of the event. 

 

 

HIRE THE VENUE FOR EVENTS OTHER THAN COMEDY

The Classic has been known to hire the main venue for quiz nights, award events and music gigs. 
These are all on a case by case basis and are at the Director's discretion.
We will take your enquiry into consideration, however, our first passion is comedy and this takes preference.

CLASSIC COMEDY XMAS FUNCTIONS - NOW BOOKING!

Xmas Buffet Dinner & Show Package including 2-course pre-show buffet dinner followed by a 2 hour comedy showcase featuring local comedians.

We offer food, drinks and entertainment all available at the same venue.

XMAS BUFFET DINNER & SHOW PACKAGE $75pp
Premium Dinner and Show Package for groups of 20+
(Minimum 20 people. Maximum 80 people)
Available Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (subject to availability)

- Pre-show buffet dinner served between 6pm – 8pm 
- Xmas Buffet including a selection of roast meats carved on-site,
   Xmas ham, salads, desserts & Xmas crackers
- Xmas Showcase at 8.30pm featuring 4-5 of NZ’s local favourite comedians
- Bar Tab available with credit card (strictly no BYO alcohol)
- All packages and shows are R18. 

Exclusive dining available for Groups of 50+

Deposits and Cancellations
Catering is provided by The Spit Roast Company. Minimum numbers apply for all catering packages.
For any catering option we will require a 50% deposit no later than Monday 31 October.
Your final numbers must be confirmed no later than Friday 11 November.
Confirmed numbers and full payment for your Dinner & Show Package are required Friday 18 November.
Any cancellations within 7 days of the event may incur cancellation fees. No refunds.

We can cater for groups up to 100 with a tailor-made 2 hour comedy show to suit your audience plus a range of catering options from the full Xmas dinner to finger food platters.

This is a great option for smaller groups to share the Classic Xmas Package with other groups of similar size

5/ Group of 19 or less? 
We'll do our best to accommodate you in a shared dinner during the peak season. 
Or check out one of the restaurants nearby & join us for a show.
The Classic is in the heart of the city with several restaurants within walking distance.
Our favourite is Tanuki's Japanese Restaurant & Sake Bar and it's right next door!!

7/ Can our group set up a bar tab? 
Yes. We require a credit card to start any bar tab. 
As it's a busy season we recommend printing drink vouchers for your group. 
This limits who has access to your tab, what's on offer and how much you want to spend. 
We do suggest limiting tabs to beer, wine & non-alcoholics. 
To set up the tab, see the Duty Manager or Bar Staff and have your credit card ready.
