We are back from Mon June 12 with a whole 'new year' of Raw Comedy counting down to the 2018 Raw Comedy Quest in May next year. It's NZ's # 1 open mic for rookie comedians. Stand-up and be counted.

EVENTS & FUNCTIONS 

The Classic offers a regular programme of live comedy for up to 5 nights a week.
We also have special events and shows happening all year round - check out What's Hot 

The Classic also offers private hire options for you to customise your own evening of comedy.
We offer a great night of entertainment all under one roof - you bring the people, we organise everything else!  
 

The Classic Comedy Experience includes:

-  A purpose built entertainment venue with a unique atmosphere and charm
-  2 separate licensed areas for up to 120 people
-  Main Venue seating up to 120 in a cabaret style with stage, lights and sound
-  Use of the projector and screen available for presentations (by prior arrangement)
-  Situated in the heart of Auckland's entertainment precinct - 50m from the Town Hall

Demand for the venue is at a premium and our calendar fills quickly.
Hire fees are available on request and depend on the event and dates required.
Hiring of The Classic is at the Director's discretion.
The Classic is not available to hire for personal parties or pre/post Ball parties and dance parties.

PRIVATE HIRE COMEDY FUNCTIONS AT THE CLASSIC 

The Classic offers private hire options available for:
Large corporate work functions or as part of your conference
Entertain staff, clients, social groups and associations
Launch a new product or brand
 

PRIVATE HIRE OF THE MAIN VENUE INCLUDING SHOW & CATERING OPTIONS
(Minimum 70 people required for a private hire)

Private Hire of The Classic Main Venue including a 2hour comedy show & catering options.
Available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (subject to availability)  

-  Exclusive use of the Main Venue from 6pm – midnight 
-  A tailor-made 2 hour comedy showcase featuring 4-5 pro comedians to suit your group as best we can
-  Comedians are hired by The Classic based on availability. If you have a few favourites let us know.
-  Cabaret style seating for up to 120 people (chairs around tables). 
-  Private bar in the Main Venue (No BYO alcohol). 
-  Bar Tab available with credit card as security.
-  Catering options available for an additional fee - see Catering & Comedy Packages
-  You are welcome to dress up the venue with your own table decorations, branding etc.
-  There are opportunities for your organisers or the Boss to say a few words.  
-  DJ/Bands may be hired by your own arrangement for entertainment after the show. 
-  Minimum 70 people required for a private hire.
-  $1000 Deposit required to secure the date 


Confirmations and Cancellations

All private hires require a signed booking contract & $1000 deposit to secure your booking.
Final catering confirmation and choices are required at least 7 days before event.
Any changes and cancellations within 7 days will incur surcharges and fees.
Cancellation of the private hire within 7 days will incur a retainer’s fee of $1000.
Minimum 70 people required for a private hire.
The Classic is a licensed bar requiring all minors (under 18) to be accompanied by their parent at all times.

FUNDRAISER HIRE 

A comedy show is a great way to raise funds for sports teams, school trips, volunteer services and charity. 


FUNDRAISER HIRE INCLUDING 2 HOUR COMEDY SHOWCASE:

-  Available on Thursdays and other dates by arrangement - contact us for availability
-  Hire offers exclusive use of the Main Venue from 6pm until late 
-  A customised 2 hour comedy showcase featuring 4-5 pro comedians 
-  Comedians are hired by The Classic based on availability, please let us know if you have any favourites
-  Cabaret style seating for up to 120 people (chairs around tables). 
-  Private bar in the Main Venue (No BYO alcohol). 
-  You are welcome to bring along branding, donation buckets, silent auctions etc.
-  Advertising space in our venue to help promote your function.

Fundraisers are responsible for selling their own tickets and the promotion of the show.
With up to 20 years of experience in the business, we're happy to offer advice.  


Deposits and Cancellations

All fundraiser hires require a signed booking contract & 50% deposit to secure your booking.
Any cancellations within 7 days may incur cancellation fees.
The Classic is a licensed bar requiring all minors (under 18) to be accompanied by their parent at all times.
The persons organising the fundraiser are responsible for their own sales and promotion of the event. 

 

 

HIRE THE VENUE FOR EVENTS OTHER THAN COMEDY

The Classic has been known to hire the Main Venue for quiz nights, award events and music gigs. 
These are all on a case by case basis and are at the Comedy Director's discretion.
We will take your enquiry into consideration, however, our first passion is comedy and this takes preference.
