For groups of less than 30 people, we recommend having dinner in the city and joining us for the show.
We are based right in the heart of the city with several eateries nearby. 
Our favourite is Tanuki's Sake Bar & Restaurant which is conveniently located right next door! 

The Spit Roast Catering Company provide the Classic with good honest Kiwi favourites to suit your budget and group size.
Prices provided are correct as of 01 January 2018 and subject to change.

Looking for our Xmas Comedy Packages - Xmas at The Classic 

 

1/ PRIVATE HIRE OF THE MAIN VENUE INCLUDING SHOW & CATERING OPTIONS
(Minimum 70 people required for a private hire)

Private Hire of The Classic Main Venue including a 2hour comedy show & catering options.
Available Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (subject to availability)
- 2 hour Comedy Showcase featuring 4-5 of NZ’s pro comedians
- Exclusive use of the Main Venue from 6pm – midnight 
- Cabaret style seating (chairs around tables) and private bar in the Main Venue (No BYO)
- Bar Tab is available with credit card as security
- Catering packages available for an additional fee
- Opportunity for awards/prize giving, message from the boss, etc.
- $1000 Deposit required to secure the date

Seasonal Buffet - Sample Menu
(Minimum catering order 45 people.)
• Buffet offering a choice of 3 roast meats carved onsite
• Selection of vegetables and salads, fresh bread and roasted potatoes
• Assortment of delicious desserts

Finger Food Platters - Sample Menu
(Minimum catering order 40 people.)
• Choice of classic Kiwi favourites eg. sausage rolls, club sandwiches and salmon bilinis
• Suitable for social groups wanting nibbles and drinks prior to the show

2/ DINNER AND SHOW PACKAGE 
(Minimum 45 people. Maximum 80 people)

Work groups, social clubs, sports clubs and special occasions.
Private seasonal buffet dinner in the Main Venue followed by 2 hour public comedy show.
Available Thursday, Friday and Saturday (subject to availability)
- 2 hour Comedy Showcase featuring 4-5 of NZ’s pro comedians (and sometimes internationals)
- Pre-show buffet dinner served from 6pm and cleared before the show
- Cabaret style seating (chairs around tables) and bar in the Main Venue (No BYO)
- Bar Tab is available with credit card as security

Suited for smaller casual groups.
Finger foods served at your tables followed by 2 hour public comedy show.
Available Thursday, Friday and Saturday (subject to availability)
- 2 hour Comedy Showcase featuring 4-5 of NZ’s pro comedians (and sometimes internationals)
- Choice of hot & cold finger foods served pre-show from 7pm
- Cabaret style seating (chairs around tables) and bar in the Main Venue (No BYO)
- Bar Tab is available with credit card as security

Confirmations and Cancellations
Catering is provided by The Spit Roast Company.
For any catering option we will require a 50% deposit to secure the date and catering.
Your final numbers must be confirmed at least 7 days before the event.
Any changes or cancellations within 7 days of your event will incur surcharges and/or cancellation fees.
Surcharges apply where minimum number for catering is not met.
Menus are subject to seasonal change.
Strictly no BYO alcohol including prizes, gifts and giveaways.

FAQ
• Comedians are hired by The Classic based on availability. Comedian fees included in all packages.
• Parking recommended at the Civic Car Park or SkyCity - subject to availability. Parking fees apply.
• The Classic is a licensed bar requiring all minors (under 18) to be accompanied by their parent.
• Any intoxicated or disruptive person will not be permitted entry and will be asked to leave.
• Strictly no BYO alcohol permitted onsite (no prizes/gifts/no outside alcohol).
• Show ends at approx 10pm. There may be another show afterwards, but you’re welcome to continue socialising in the Front Bar. (excludes Private Hires)

The Classic

CLUB RULES:
We understand this is your big night out and we love to accommodate a good time! 
1. The Classic is a licensed bar. Strictly no BYO alcohol. Shows are R18. No ID, no entry.
2. Seating is primarily allocated. Ask the ushers if you need more seats or have special needs.
3. Drinking in moderation: It’s a looong night, please pace yourself. 
4. Intoxication: Stoned or drunk persons are legally not permitted on the premises and will be asked to leave. 
5. No Heckling: The showcase features the best of NZ Pro-Comedy, we do ask for the enjoyment of everyone you limit your participation to laughter and applause which are both very welcome! Open mic night is on Mondays.
6. Chatty or Bored: If comedy isn’t your thing, please move to the Front Bar where you can chat and socialise. Unfortunately, any disruptive and/or disorderly persons will be asked to leave to the show and not let back in. 
7. No photography or filming permitted during the show. Live in the moment - good times.
8. Cooperation and communication with the staff - they're here to keep you safe.
9. Don’t be a dick! Everyone including the staff and comedians are here to have a good night.

The Classic Comedy Club is a licensed bar.  
All minors (under 18 years old) must be accompanied by their parent at all times.
