NZ’s home of live comedy continues to set the pace during Mocktober , celebrating 20 years on Queen St, with the annual Labour Weekend showcase of new pro’s who have joined The Classic in 2017.
The line-up includes Ruby Esther, the winner of 2017 Raw Comedy Quest in May, who will be joined by other finalists, Finn Nicolas, Keegan Govind, Uther Dean, Roland Mirabueno and Ray Shipley from Christchurch. They will be joined by Donna Brookbanks, Chester Jerrat and Harley Ofoia who have all made an impression this year.
As an added twist the Labour Weekend New Pro’s Showcase will be hosted by comedy duo, The Fan Brigade , their first time MCing a big weekend show at The Classic.
Mocktober wraps up the 20th year celebrations at The Classic and will feature performances from local legends, rising stars and the promising new faces. Throughout the month the comedians and staff will be raising funds for the Revivify Fund that will be used to refurbish a number of areas of the club during 2018.
