I've been into comedy in the broad sense since I was a kid. I got into it at school in Wanganui by constantly goofing around, which incidentally is a core component of the Wanganui schooling system.
My influences would have to be Chris Farley, Andy Kaufman, Louis CK, Brendhan Lovegrove and recently Amy Poehler. I got into stand up in Wellington by signing up for regular open mic-night. So I did and the rest is history.
I also want to be a pet owner, a British Bulldog specifically. But my partner and landlord won't let me get one. Just to clarify my partner is a separate person from my landlord, they are two separate entities.
With loves as diverse as cake, black power, going to the gym and huggable sci-fi characters who wouldn't want to listen to Dan ramble. His style is low key yet physical, wrong yet so right, sweet yet sour, or is that sweet and sour who knows. At any rate he is ready to rumble after a successful 2014 Comedy Festival cracking people up at Late Laughs, Next Big Things, and at his Comedy Fest show - In Stereo. So please join the mercurial Dan Shenton for a laugh induced hiccup or two.
"Wonderful physicality" - The Ruminator.
"He's got a great eye for a setup ... we actually coo with delight at the possibilities" - Theatreview.
