WILSON  DIXON
New Zealand
A BRAND NEW BAG OF SONGS AND STORIES FROM LIFE ON THE DUSTY TRAIL.
PROFILE

Cripple Creek Records presents

Wilson Dixon Saddle Sore

"...the sort of nuanced performance and subtle humour that have already made cult stars of Flight Of The Conchords. Don't be surprised if he follows in their wake." Chortle.co.uk
May 2008

"...the kind of fella who could make you laugh 'til the cows come home...Dixon's deadpan patter is gut-bustingly funny, but it's his beautifully crafted songs that really impress."
The Scotsman, Edinburgh Fringe August 2008.

"...sublime, laugh out loud comedy." Edfringe.com, August 2008.

Wilson Dixon is an American country music legend. He lives in the country, in America, and he's a legend. He spends a lot of his time riding Andrew, his favourite horse.

However, his new show Saddle Sore is not about Andrew. It's not about riding horses at all. It's about metaphors. It's about being on the road and missing home. It's about driving all night to sing to a field of cows. It's about missing your kid's birthday and getting rung up by your ex wife and abused in a language you don't understand. It's about not being around to stop your ex wife from taking night classes in Vietnamese.

After barnstorming performances on the TV2 Crunchie Comedy Gala and several years of sold-out shows at the Melbourne and NZ comedy Festivals, Wilson Dixon has spent the last year whipping up a frenzy on the UK comedy scene - headlining clubs across the country, supporting the likes of Rhys Darby and David O'Doherty (2008 if.comedy winner), garnering a coveted Chortle Comedy nomination, winning a Spank award, and being commissioned to write his own series for BBC Radio.

Wilson Dixon is the creation of Jesse Griffin, award-winning comedian, actor and founding member of acclaimed physical comedy trio, The 4 Noels.
