Urzila Carlson took to the stage in April 2008 for the first time, fell in love and so did the audience.
In December 2008 Urzila won the NZ Comedy Guilds best newcomer award and also took home the Andrew Kovacevich Memorial Cup.
It was official, comedy was now in her blood and had become an obsession! In 2009 Urzila does her first solo show in the NZ International Comedy Festival and off the back of that show gets invited to go to the Adelaide Fringe in 2010 and do a season of Titters! A showcase of award winning funny women.
2010 is a big year and Urzila gets nominated for a Billy T Comedy Award 2011, and also wins the 2010 NZ Comedy Guilds best female comedian award. No small feat for someone only in the industry for 2 years!
2011 so far, saw Urzila invited back to Adelaide for another season of Titters! And to perform her solo show, A whole lotta woman.
